(Firstly, sorry about the manky looking video. But that sound is creepyyyy.)
The Ocean on Earth are terryfying. Only a tiny 5% has actually been explored and the creature down there are more creepy than those on the land. The dark and cold conditions of the sea make exploration near impossible, and the fact that it looks the same everywhere gives off the eerie sense of disorientation. We really have no clue what is down there.
The loudest sound on record is the explosion of Krakatoa. The loudest sound made by an animal is that of a blue whale.

But in 1997, when U.S. National Oceanic and Atomospheric Administration picked up a sound using a highly advanced hydraphone off the coast of South America, new theories began to surface. This sound was heard at ocean monitoring stations thousands of miles apart, and because it resembles a growling sound, people began to believe it was a new species of marine animal, bigger than anything ever seen before.

Another prediction is the rediscovery of the anchient Megladon, a large shark-like animal that coud grow up to 3 times as big as a great white. It is known that these creatures are long since gone, but many think that they still exist.
The most likely truth of the Bloop is that it was the occurence of a Cryoseism, or an ice-quake. And the groaning of the so called Bloop was just ice scarping the ocean floor.

Other predictions have been made that the beast was the giant Cthulu squid. Some very conspiritorial people have thought that it could be either a ditress from the lost city of Atlantis, or even wierder: aliens.
Personally, The Bloop is a topic where i dont really have much of a solid belief. My geological brain leans more towards the ice-quake theory. However, though a gigantic beast chills me to the bone, it would be an amazing find to discover an animal as big as predicted.
